Ken Faulks

I was born in Victoria BC Canada, and at the ripe old age of 2-3, started out as a ‘hard-core recreational visual artist’.

At the age of 18, I found myself picking up the odd illustration job and by 1984, I took on the role of ‘professional freelance illustrator’, working in Victoria for a couple years, then moving to Vancouver to continue freelancing as an illustrator. In 1989, I added ‘plein air painter’ to the mix and started exhibiting in galleries the next year.

After almost 7 years in Vancouver, I moved back to Victoria to continue freelancing and painting.

36 years later, I’m still at it. I do less commercial work these days, spend more time painting and have gallery representation in Victoria BC, Kelowna BC, Edmonton AB, and Toronto ON.

In January 2018, I joined the Federation of Canadian Artists. In February of that year I applied for my ‘SFCA’ (Senior Member Status). I was awarded that in March 2018.
